About TJFA
Welcome to the web-site of the Teesside Junior Football Alliance. A League which is Durham County FA Charter Standard and accepts only Charter Standard accredited Clubs, it was formed in 1974 and is expanding year on year. The League is one of the biggest in the UK and Europe, with matches generally played on Sundays, beginning the second weekend in September (13th. 2009) and ending in May (2nd. 2010).
We have had one season with a regular slot on BBC Tees on a Thursday evening thanks to Alastair Brownlee. Amongst other things we discuss the current state of junior football within this League and also give out a Recognition Award each week. The programme will recommence for the TJFA in early September for season 2009/2010.
The League will cater for players between the ages of 7 years and 18 years who compete in clearly defined Under 8 (classified as Development) to Under 18 age groups. The current number of continuing Teams stands at 543. There are 52 Divisions! Your views on the site and the layout are always welcome.
Don't forget to ask your Club Secretary about being a "Match Reporter" for your Team(s). We want as many "reporters" as possible to post reports on the site over the coming season. Please keep pestering your Club to upload their Club badges. It is really easy to do (Go to the Info tab, then Extra Time and the details are found there) and gives you more of an enhanced Club & Team page. We would also appreciate it if you could let us know when your Club was first formed and that will also go on each Club's page.
