Match Officials (Small Sided)
Whilst it is noted that Rule MSC1 recognises the need for "Managers/Coaches/Parents" to officiate in Mini-Soccer matches on occasions, this should be the exception rather than the rule. It should not be taken for granted that you do not have to make an effort to appoint a bona-fide independent Match Official.
It is always an excellent chance to appoint one of the younger, more recently qualified Officials who pass their Referee Course in either of the two Counties. This gives the newly qualified Officials the chance to start out in this League and may go some way to retaining their services for future years, allowing them to progress to 11-a-side, where it is apparent throughout the country that there is a severe shortage of Match Officials.
Club/Team Officials should read and fully comprehend Rule 13B of the current League Rulebook which states that if you cannot secure the services of an Official Referee (who has no ties with the home Team), you must offer the away Team the opportunity to officiate the match. In those circumstances the match payment and travelling expenses shall be made to the person undertaking those duties by the HOME TEAM.
